Common questions.

What will it cost?

Every site needs different changes, so we don’t have set prices. Once we’ve looked at your site, we’ll suggest what to change and give you a fixed price for it. You’ll know the full cost before you decide. If you’d like only some of the changes, we’ll price those instead.

How long will it take?

Most projects take one to three weeks from your go-ahead, depending on how much we change. We take on only a few clients at a time, so we can usually start straight away. We’ll give you a timeline with the price.

Which platforms do you work with?

All the main ones, including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Webflow, and Square Online, as well as custom-built sites. We make the changes on whatever platform your site already uses. We can also move your site and domain to a different platform if you’d like.

Can you build a completely new website?

Yes. We’ll always tell you if we think a few changes would do the job, but sometimes a fresh start is called for.

We already have a developer. Can you work with them?

Yes, in whatever way suits you: we can make the changes ourselves and keep them informed, or simply hand our suggestions to them.

What access will you need?

Usually a login to your website platform, which you can set up for us and remove when we’ve finished. We’ll never need your own password.

Do you work with clients outside South Africa?

Yes, wherever you’re based.

Can you look after our site?

Yes, in any of three ways, and it’s never a condition of the original project:

  • Changes when you need them: Tell us what you’d like changed, and we’ll take care of it.
  • Monthly upkeep: We keep your site’s software up to date, back it up, and check its security.
  • Upkeep and reporting: Everything in monthly upkeep, plus a report each month on how your site is doing: how many people visit it, how they find it, and how it performs in search.

We don’t host websites ourselves. Most businesses are better off with their own account at a hosting company, or the hosting their platform includes: it costs less than paying an agency to manage it, and once it’s set up, it needs very little attention. We can help you choose a host and set it up in your name, and we’re on hand if anything goes wrong.

Who owns the work?

You own everything we make for your site.

What do you do with my details?

We use them only to look at your site, reply to you, and, if you hire us, do the work. We don’t use them for marketing, and we don’t sell them or pass them on. Our privacy notice has the details.
